Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter and Riverside resorts are getting into the Mardi Gras spirit, and guests who have an upcoming stay will have a couple of returning options to help them laissez les bon temps rouler. I had the chance to stop by the resorts; let’s take a look around!
Live entertainment has returned to Port Orleans – French Quarter! Guests will be able to stop and sit for a spell by the Scat Cat Club Lounge’s stage to hear The Jazz Fusion Band play the very best in New Orleans jazz every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening.
The lounge itself is open every day from 5pm to midnight, with the band’s first performance being at 7:30pm. You’ll find Scat Cat’s Club Lounge right off of the main lobby.
Horse-drawn carriage rides have returned to the Port Orleans resorts! Guests can take a leisurely ride along the Sassagoula River in a carriage of their very own. Carriage rides are $55 and can be booked by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.
You’ll find the staging area for the carriage rides at the Riverside Levee Marina just outside of the Port Orleans – Riverside main lobby.
Gorgeous afternoon? How ‘bout a ride along the river via surrey or bike? Surreys can be rented by the half-hour and bikes can be rented for the day at the Riverside Levee.
Eat a beignet. Or two. It’s almost Mardi Gras, after all. You’ll find all things sweet treats at Scat Cat’s Club Cafe. Be sure to stop by for a beignet while you’re visiting the resort. If you’re dropping by around a holiday (like Valentine’s Day), you might just find a special beignet being offered. The current specialty treat is the Cinna-Hot Beignet ($3.49), and they’re quite popular with the resort’s guests.
What’s not to love about hot cinnamon icing, hot cinnamon candies, and heart-shaped sprinkles, right? Want an adult version of the specialty beignet? The Baton Rouge Cinna-Hot variety comes with two beignets and cinnamon whiskey for $9.99.
Is a stay at either of the Port Orleans resorts on your Walt Disney World must-do list?
