When Walt Disney World first announced CommuniCore Hall and its purpose, many Disney fans questioned what guests would actually see in the space. So far, it has been utilized for extra indoor, air-conditioned seating and as a “hub” for the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, where guests could see the Spaceship Earth gingerbread display and purchase a gingerbread cookie. This is also where the Mickey & Friends character meet-and-greet is located. Fans have spoken in the comments sections of our articles and social media posts and expressed their dismay about this flex space in this discussion thread on DISboards. I’m not sure what all the fuss is about as the space is being used, for the most part, how Disney said it would be.
Today is the first day of the 2025 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and there is a much different scene in CommuniCore Hall than we’ve seen so far. We knew that the Once Upon A Stage: 30 Years of Disney on Broadway display would be housed there, but the concept art we saw doesn’t do it justice. Take a look at this video from Michael James Scott, the actor who plays The Genie in Aladdin on Broadway, as he excitedly peruses through all the displays. We love to see it!
His video alone makes me wish that I was heading to the Festival of the Arts this year! It’s pretty special to get to see all of the amazing props and costumes from Broadway during this festival, and it’s all included in your EPCOT park ticket. This special event only runs through February 24, 2025!
