When it comes to my Disney snacks, I have a lot of feelings. Of course, there are my staples that are part of the Disney Parks experience, like Dole Whip and churros, non-negotiable must-haves that I can’t leave without having. Then, there are snacks of opportunity; you know, the ones you didn’t plan on, but that unexpected hankering leaves you following your nose to the nearest snack cart for help. When I’m searching for those spontaneous treats, I have a few criteria in mind. I usually prefer something savoury over sweet, and I love something with bite-sized pieces that you can enjoy piece by piece. Although I won’t say no to a Mickey Mouse Pretzel, the size usually makes this snack option feel a bit overwhelming. Now, a new option in the pretzel department might solve all of my snack-shaped problems.
Yesterday, Disney announced the arrival of a curious new offering: Pretzel Nuggets.
First off, yes, just yes. Secondly, how could anything with a name like that be bad? After closer inspection, I had only one question. The new menu offering can be found at Block & Hans in World Showcase at EPCOT and is described as ‘new bites with garlic butter, barbecue rub, and beer-cheese sauce.’ Commentors were quick to question the combination of the two flavors, garlic butter and barbecue rub, but this sounded like perfection to me. Nix the cheese sauce, and not only could this be something I would order and share, but I could throw any leftovers into my trusty zip-lock bag for later as well. Winning. I started to wonder if this could actually be the perfect Disney snack.
I don’t know how you decide which of the myriad of Disney treats you will invest in at snack time, but could you see yourself trying this new menu item in EPCOT? I think I am going to need access to these in every park if they are as good as they sound!
