Woody’s Lunch Box Construction Continues at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The need for more shade and seating in Toy Story Land persists, as the construction saga continues at Woody’s Lunch Box. The popular Hollywood Studios quick-service location currently features a large structure topped with little green army men and toy blocks in the center, but has been completely surrounded by temporary planters, blocking access. (Based on how long this project has gone for, those planters don’t feel so temporary.)

Last time we checked in on this project, we were hoping it would be complete for the Christmas and New Year’s crowds! We’re now approaching Easter weekend, and while there are some additional tables (including standing tables with no shade) scattered about, the central seating area which appears to offer some shade is still not finished.

While there’s some progress since our last check in, construction is moving extremely slow. There doesn’t seem to be active work going on during the day. When inquiring with a Woody’s Lunch Box Cast Member, they said there is no approximate finish date for the project, but guests often mistake the structure for a playground.

We’ll keep hoping for the updated central seating area to be revealed soon. Until then, I’ll keep enjoying my loaded totchos in the hot sun at a standing table — a true Florida theme park experience.
