It’s time to set your clocks to Pooh time, as we look at another Walt Disney World snack. We’re back on the hunt for a little smackerel of something, this time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Alright, buckaroo, we’re switching gears from Pooh bear to our favorite wee cowboy voiced by Tom Hanks. Woody’s Lunch Box serves up classic American fare on-the-go menu items with a creative twist. Between the “Totchos” (loaded tater tots with both meat and plant-based options!), grilled cheese, and “Grown-Up’s Lemonade”, Woody’s has been a not-so hidden gem for me at Hollywood Studios.
During my latest visit to Toy Story Land, I went with one of my lunchbox staples, tried something new-to-me, along with a seasonal treat. Are these true must-haves or should you move onto another DHS dining locale? I’ll let you know how these rank on the rumbly in my tumbly scale.
BBQ Brisket Melt | $13.99
Shredded Smoked Brisket, Pickles, and Tangy Barbecue Sauce between Melted Cheddar and Monterey Jack on Grilled Sourdough Bread; served with side of Potato Barrels
I hadn’t tried this Disney BBQ sandwich before. The description had me thinking this was going to be an ooey-gooey cheesy and savory brisket, but what we ended up with left a lot to be desired. The sourdough was fine, however the meat wasn’t really what I was picturing when I ordered a “brisket sandwich”. I knew it was shredded and not carved, but the overly-saucy thin shreds reminded us more of cheap pork you’d have in a cafeteria versus good BBQ (which can be found in a few places around the parks, with Flametree BBQ at Disney’s Animal Kingdom coming to mind). The cheese didn’t do much to save it, obscured by the sweet sauce.
We ordered a side of cheese for $1, meant for the potato barrels, but ended up dipping each sandwich bite for some more flavor. Thank goodness for the massive sliced pickle on each half, which added a welcome juicy crunch.
I rate this a 2 out of 5 on the rumbly in my tumbly scale. I’m hoping this was just a fluke order, maybe it’s better on another day?
“Totchos” | $10.49
Potato Barrels coated with Beef & Bean Chili, Shredded Cheese, and signature Quest with Tomatoes and Corn Chips finished with Sour Cream and a sprinkle of Green Onions
The Totchos – or loaded nacho tater tots – are my go-to snack whenever I stop into Toy Story Land. They’re easy to share with a friend, or enjoy on your own as a small meal. The potato barrels are well-coated in the beaf & bean chili and queso, which are just hearty enough to leave you satisfied without feeling weighed down for the rest of your busy park day. There is no heat to the chili whatsoever, so this dish is easy to please most palates. The shredded cheese adds just the right amount of ooey-gooey melted cheese we’re looking for, and the corn chips give each bite a good crunch. I rate this one a 4.5 out of 5 on the rumbly in my tumbly scale!
Chocolate-covered Strawberry Lunch Box Tart | $4.99
Chocolate Dough, Strawberry Jam, Chocolate Fondant, Strawberry Crisps, Pink Curls, and Heart Sprinkles
After the surprisingly tasty pumpkin lunch box tart from last fall, I couldn’t turn down trying the Valentine’s-themed one for February! The seasonal lunch box tart looked promising… but this was dry, dry, dry. I couldn’t believe how thin the layer of strawberry jam was inside. The chocolate crust was almost chalk-like, and didn’t possess much of a cocoa flavor. The best part was the chocolate fondant and adorable themed toppings… but was that worth $5? (The answer is no.) This one gets a sad .5 out of 5 on the rumbly in my tumbly scale.

DO: Mobile Order!
Some of Woody’s Lunchbox seating area is still under construction, so tables and chairs are limited. The line to order food is often long – I find it best to place a mobile order here; maybe wander over to the nearby Galaxy’s Edge or ride Alien Swirling Saucers while you await your pick-up time.
Until next time, be grateful for your plateful!
