BIG Changes Made to Disney Dining Reservation Cancellation Policy

It just got a lot easier to cancel dining reservations at Walt Disney World. They have officially confirmed that starting today, November 15th, 2022, guests can cancel dining reservations up to two hours in advance without being charged a cancellation fee. It is important to note that this might not be true for all restaurants on property.

Before Disney made this change, the old policy was that guests would have to cancel most advance dining reservations at Disney World at least 24 hours before the reservation to avoid being charged any cancellation fees.

This just made dining at the parks a bit more flexible than before. For example, someone in your family might start to feel ill, or maybe your travel party decided they want to ride more attractions than sit down to eat. This new rule will allow guests to have more control of their day. To ensure your group can cancel without any issues, set an alarm for two and a half hours before the reservation time and see if canceling would be a better option.

This dining policy does not apply to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Victoria & Albert’s, and Monsieur Paul. Each of these venues has its own dining cancellation policies that remain as is.

How do you feel about this new dining cancellation policy? Let us know in the comments!

Hi, I'm Erica, and I write about all things Disney. Before working for The DIS, I was a theme park performer at SeaWorld, but I also performed at Disney. I have such an immense love for theme parks to the point I studied them in college.
