A major change is coming to one of Walt Disney World’s newest dining spots. Disney has confirmed that Wailulu Bar & Grill – the signature restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort‘s new Island Tower – will soon transition from walk-up only to a reservation-based system.
Online reservations open December 3, 2025, with the first bookable date set for December 4, 2025. This is a big change for the popular venue, which since opening has operated exclusively on a first-come, first-served walk-up basis.

Given Wailulu’s prime location overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon, dinner reservations are expected to be in high demand. The restaurant’s open-air setting offers one of the best vantage points for viewing Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks across the water, making it a top choice for those looking to pair a relaxed island-inspired meal with a bit of Disney magic after dark!
Wailulu Bar & Grill’s menu blends island flavors with contemporary presentation, emphasizing shareable plates and fresh ingredients.
Starters include:
- Ahi Tuna Crisps – marinated tuna with avocado crema, Sriracha aïoli, and soy glaze – $17
- Sweet Potato Hummus – served with crispy chickpeas and breadfruit tostones – $12
- Sticky Pork Ribs – topped with pineapple chips and jicama slaw – $15
- Garlic Shrimp – with smoked paprika and garlic-lemon butter – $16

Main dishes:
- Short Rib Loco Moco – with shiitake mushroom gravy and fried egg – $33
- Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl – sushi-style rice and spicy poke sauce – $26
- Wayfinder Burger – double patties with onion jam and volcano sauce – $23 (a contender for one of the best burgers on Disney property, in my humble opinion)
- Grilled Fish of the Day – served in green curry broth with jasmine rice – $32
Desserts:
- Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brûlée – $12
- Chocolate Cake – with salted caramel ganache and coffee Chantilly – $11
- DOLE Whip Sundae – with hibiscus meringue and macerated fruit – $8
A kids’ menu is also available, featuring teriyaki chicken, grilled whitefish, macaroni and cheese, and cheeseburgers, each priced between $10.50 and $13.50 and served with sides and a drink.
With reservations on the horizon and spectacular lagoon views, Wailulu Bar & Grill is poised to become one of the most sought-after dining experiences at Walt Disney World this winter.
