Yesterday, July 20th, 2023, was National DOLE Whip Day, and I ventured to the Magic Kingdom to celebrate. Last year on this tasty holiday, was the first time I had tried this iconic Disney snack. Ever since that trip to Aloha Isle, I have become a massive fan of DOLE Whip and even found out my favorite flavor.
This year I celebrated at Sunshine Tree Terrace, the home of the Orange Bird and my favorite flavor of DOLE Whip, strawberry. I’m not a fancy gal when it comes to this treat, so I don’t do any combined swirls or any floats; I like mine in a cup. It’s just easier for walking around. Of course, yesterday felt like the hottest day of the year, so the minute I got my DOLE Whip, I had to act quickly because, within 30 seconds, it was already starting to fall apart.
Even though it got a bit messy, there’s nothing better than finding a shady spot to enjoy this treat on a hot summer day. At least for me, it helps distract me from the heat and makes me realize that I’d rather be fighting humidity to eat a DOLE Whip at Magic Kingdom over doing yard work or any other type of adulting in this weather.
I know this isn’t the only park to find DOLE Whip, so next year, I will celebrate this holiday somewhere else, maybe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Until then, I will continue to try all the different flavors that come out and savor this sweet treat on these hot days.
