Hey, Disney friends! One of my favorite things about a Walt Disney World vacation is discovering experiences that go beyond the parks. Don’t get me wrong, I could happily spend every day riding attractions and soaking up the Disney magic, but sometimes it’s those unique dining events and special experiences that make a vacation feel even more memorable. They add another dimension to your trip, giving you something unexpected to look forward to once the park day winds down.
Even if you aren’t visiting Walt Disney World on vacation, this is exactly the kind of event that makes Disney Springs worth a visit all on its own. Whether you’re local to Central Florida or simply looking for a fun excuse to spend an evening in Disney’s shopping, dining, and entertainment district, this brand-new culinary competition sounds like a fantastic reason to stop by. Here are the details:

Morimoto Asia is hosting its inaugural Sushi Showdown on September 21st, bringing together some of Orlando’s most talented sushi chefs for one exciting evening of friendly competition. Each chef will prepare both a signature sushi dish and a cooked small plate featuring the same fish, and guests get to sample every creation before casting their vote to help crown Orlando’s very first sushi champion. It’s an interactive experience that lets everyone become part of the judging panel, which sounds like so much fun for food lovers.

The evening doesn’t stop with incredible food, either. Guests can add an optional sake tasting package featuring six different pours paired with tasting notes, enjoy music from a live DJ, and even take part in a live auction benefiting Give Kids The World Village, with all proceeds supporting wish vacations for critically ill children and their families. The event offers two sessions, making it easy to fit into your Disney Springs plans, whether you’re looking for an early evening outing or a later night filled with amazing food, entertainment, and a little friendly competition.
