Take a Look Inside Disney Springs’ Temporary Ghirardelli Shop

If you’re worried that the ongoing refurbishment at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop means you have to skip your chocolate fix during your next Disney Springs visit, there’s good news. Ghirardelli has recently opened its temporary location, and while it may not have all the charm of the original, it definitely delivers all the sweet treats we know and love.

The modifications to the old Sprinkles Cupcakes building blend in nicely with the surrounding Town Center area, complete with a waterfront patio offering a peaceful place to enjoy your sundae or chocolate purchase. It’s a quieter and more serene spot than the original location and gives guests a nice view while they take a break from shopping.

Today’s photo tour takes you inside the temporary shop, which is now welcoming guests while work continues on the longtime Disney Springs favorite.

Once inside, you’ll notice that the temporary shop has a brighter, more modern look than the classic San Francisco-inspired space Disney fans have grown used to. White walls, exposed beams, and clean lines give it a fresh feel, while colorful Ghirardelli graphics and artwork help add some personality throughout the space.

Of course, chocolate is still the star of the show.

Shelves are packed with Ghirardelli chocolate bars, gift boxes, bags of assorted squares, seasonal treats, and plenty of grab-and-go goodies if you’re looking for a snack or souvenir to bring home. Guests can also pick up freshly dipped strawberries, brownies, cookies, and other bakery treats near the registers. If you’re someone who can’t resist walking out with “just one more thing,” this display probably won’t help – just saying.

One display even features the brand’s iconic San Francisco cable car tins, which always make fun gifts for chocolate lovers.

And yes, the famous sundaes are still on the menu.

Digital menu boards showcase many of Ghirardelli’s signature creations, including the World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae, Ocean Beach Sea Salt Caramel Sundae (my absolute favorite!), Chocolate Lover’s Hot Fudge Sundae, Gold Rush Caramel Almond Sundae, and the colorful Magical Hot Fudge Sundae. There are even non-dairy options available for guests looking for a dairy-free treat.

The ordering process is simple, with separate areas for placing your order and picking it up once it’s ready.

The temporary shop may not have the same nostalgic atmosphere as the original Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop, but it does exactly what it needs to do. The menu remains familiar, the chocolate selection is impressive, and you can still enjoy one of Disney Springs’ most popular dessert stops while construction continues nearby. There’s also a spot to grab your utensils, napkins, and a cup of water before heading outside to enjoy.

If you’re planning a visit soon, take a few minutes to step inside and see the temporary location for yourself. It’ll only be around for a limited time, making it a fun little piece of Disney Springs history to experience before the renovated flagship location reopens.
