It’s the most wonderful time of the year when you find yourself in the Disney parks, but what is even better is when you have a mix of two wonderful things: Disney and Christmas. Whether it’s the beginning of Christmas season or the middle of July, I always find myself drawn into the winter wonderland found in Disney’s Christmas shops! You can find these glorious Christmas shops in Disney Springs or in the Magic Kingdom, and they offer a variety of Christmas goodies that can make any Scrooge smile.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is located in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom. This shop looks like it was plucked out of A Christmas Carol and dropped into the heat of Central Florida. When you walk in, you can sense the coziness of a cold December day with the wood facades and faux fireplaces. Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe has everything from ornaments to Christmas countdown calendars, and from stockings to bakeware. You can also find Chanukah merchandise here.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe also has more personal experiences as well. You can have your ornament personalized right there on the spot. It’s always a fun experience to step out of the heat and watch these craftsmen and women at work. Also, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe has one of my favorite photo ops in the sleigh that’s out in front of the store. The two-person open sleigh makes you want some chestnuts from an open fire.
The other Christmas store in Walt Disney World is Disney’s Days of Christmas, found in Disney Springs. This Christmas store is massive, and will leave any Christmas lover’s jaw on the floor. As you walk around, you can find every different Christmas motif possible from red and green traditional, to bright neon colors, to gold and silver; every decorating style for every home is represented.
Disney’s Days of Christmas also has the best group of ornaments in the area. You can find almost any character or movie you could imagine in ornament form. They also always have some sort of deal with the ornaments because one Disney ornament on your tree just is not enough. I always feel inspired for my personal Disney tree when I wander through this store.
Many believe Christmas should only be celebrated in December, but Disney Christmas stores may just change your mind!
