It’s time for a mini construction update from EPCOT! A new walkway has opened, and we’ve gotten an up-close look at the new marquee for Connections Cafe and Eatery. Let’s take a peek!
Instead of being diverted back to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a new walkway has been opened that allows guests to walk almost straight back to the entrance of the World Showcase (remember when we could do that?!). The walkway also takes people right in front of the upcoming Connections Cafe and Eatery.
You might remember that Jackie shared Imagineer Zach Riddley’s recent look at the cafe’s new sign. Getting to stand right in front of it and see the cast members working to finish the interior space was so much fun.
It’s important to note that the in-park Guest Relations location is currently closed while it’s being refurbished.
Guests are now directed to the front of the park and all the way over to the left (looking at the park’s entrance) to join the Guest Relations queue that connects to the GR window located just outside of the park. Guests do not need to officially leave the park as the new queue allows the line to wrap around the building and directs guests to step inside.
One of my favorite things that’s been added is a park map that’s mounted on the construction wall near Guest Relations. It’s a beautiful map in and of itself, and it includes braille for those who need it. Every park pavilion is labeled in braille, as is World Showcase Lagoon. It’s so beautifully detailed (even the monorail track’s outline is marked!) and it was a reminder of how important the little things are.
I don’t know about you, but the new walkway being open is a step in the right direction. We’re just a bit closer to the completion of EPCOT’s construction, and I’m excited. How about you?
Deni loves all things Disney, and, in 2013, moved to the Magic from Maryland. Walt Disney World is her happy place, and she loves getting to share it with others. Deni and her husband of almost 26 years have 2 grown children. Her favorite WDW snack? A Mickey Bar, of course. Is there any other?!
