If you’ve ever been to Epcot on a weekend evening during a festival and tried traversing the Rosewalk path that leads from Future World West to the World Showcase, you know how jammed-packed it can get. The path isn’t wide, and it becomes a very slow-moving (and somewhat frustrating) stream of people as guests enter and leave the flow of foot traffic and come and go from the outdoor kitchens that front the Rosewalk. Thankfully, it seems that all of that will be changing with the 2019 Food and Wine Festival as the Rosewalk undergoes an extensive transformation and its walkway is widened.
The construction currently envelops not only the pathway, but the area surrounding the Future World outdoor kitchens. Cast members were laying fresh sod in the area yesterday.
If you’ll be visiting Epcot soon, please note that with the closure of the Rosewalk and the area and path nearest Innoventions West, guests who would normally access the World Showcase via the Rosewalk must walk through Innoventions West to continue on to the World Showcase.
As you can see here, the path seems to be quite wider than it was before. It also seems that extra space for guests to navigate the areas surrounding the outdoor kitchens is also being added.
There is more of a permanent structure at the World Showcase end of the Rosewalk.
I can’t wait to try out the new space at the end of the month. I’m hoping that guest flow will be greatly improved, and that the overall experience is heightened. The 2019 Food and Wine Festival begins on August 29th and will run until November 23rd.
Deni loves all things Disney, and, in 2013, moved to the Magic from Maryland. Walt Disney World is her happy place, and she loves getting to share it with others. Deni and her husband of almost 26 years have 2 grown children. Her favorite WDW snack? A Mickey Bar, of course. Is there any other?!
