How to Maximize Your Time at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2025

No matter how many hours we spend at a Disney park, it never feels like enough… especially at a hard-ticketed event like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) at Magic Kingdom. With festive entertainment, exclusive treats, rare character meet-and-greets, and limited-capacity crowds, this after-hours event packs a lot into just five hours.

If you’re attending one of the remaining 2025 party dates or planning ahead for next year, here are a few updated tips to help you make the most of your time at MVMCP.

Arrive Early

Although the party officially begins at 7 PM and runs until midnight, ticketholders can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM. Use those extra three hours wisely, it’s one of the best perks of the event ticket!

Arrive early to take in the park’s holiday décor, catch a Jingle Cruise, grab festive photos before the lighting gets tricky, or fit in a few must-do thrill rides. If you want to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or TRON Lightcycle / Run, do those during regular park hours so your actual party time is free for seasonal fun.

However, don’t skip Space Mountain during party hours. The historic attraction gets a temporary overlay with pulsing lights and energetic holiday music that makes it one of the most chaotic and fun versions of the ride all year.

Rest Up and Eat Before the Party

To make it through the night, consider skipping rope drop and enjoy a relaxed morning at your resort. A nap or downtime by the pool will help you stay energized well past midnight.

When it comes to food, the party features plenty of limited-time treats, but they can eat up valuable time (pun intended). Have an early dinner before you arrive so you can focus on snacking as you go during the event.

Look for walk-up holiday treats from Sleepy Hollow, Friar’s Nook, Storybook Treats, or Casey’s Corner (you’ll thank yourself for mobile ordering).

Plan Your Night Around Entertainment

The entertainment lineup is one of the biggest reasons to attend MVMCP, but the schedule can be tight. Before arriving, check the My Disney Experience app or grab an event guide to prioritize your group’s must-sees.

If you want the best viewing spot, plan to catch the second parade – it’s usually less crowded as families with younger kids head out early.

Between shows, take advantage of shorter lines at popular rides or check out the character greetings around the park. Longtime favorites include Jack and Sally, Santa Claus, Pooh & friends, and the Seven Dwarfs, but lines for these can stretch quickly, so arrive early if they’re a priority.

Don’t Miss the Free Treats

Throughout the park, select locations offer complimentary cookies and hot cocoa (or cider or eggnog!) included with your party admission. Each stop serves different cookie flavors and beverages, and the park map highlights where to find them – perfect for a quick snack break between entertainment offerings.

The cookies are individually wrapped and primed for taking back to your room (or home!) for late holiday snacking.

Stay Late and Savor the Ending

Even though the official party hours end at midnight, don’t rush out. The atmosphere after closing is one of the most peaceful moments you’ll find all season. Take a few last photos of Cinderella Castle, stop by the Emporium for exclusive party merchandise, and enjoy the lights and occasional “snow” along Main Street, U.S.A.

Every group celebrates differently. Some focus on rides, others on characters or entertainment. The key is to plan ahead, pace yourself, and prioritize what matters most to you. Whether you’re catching the fireworks, riding Space Mountain with its holiday overlay, or simply soaking up the decorations, there’s no wrong way to celebrate the season at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
