It’s time to set your clocks to Pooh time, as we look at another Walt Disney World snack. Something I’m almost always on the hunt for are new and tasty Magic Kingdom foods to satisfy the rumbly in my tumbly. With the recent menu update at Sleep Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square, there was one thing left to do… TRY EVERYTHING. Well, how about two of the loaded waffle offerings?
Mickey Waffle with Sweet & Spicy Maple Chicken | $12.29
The hearty helping of chicken was tender and delicious. They’re crispy, covered in a maple sriracha glaze, and topped with parsley flakes.
The warm Mickey Waffle was cooked well; possessing a satisfying crisp at the edges, with a soft and dense inside. We did grab a side of maple syrup to add a bit more sweetness to the medium-level heat, which balanced the flavors nicely. I would absolutely get this one again! I give this a 4.5 out of 5 on the rumbly in my tumbly scale.
Time for something sweet!
Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream | $9.49
As a big fan of the previous Berry & Nutella Waffle at Sleepy Hollow, I had high expectations for the new Mickey Waffle version. The problem is, with the amount of the fruit juices and weight of the chocolate-hazelnut spread, unfortunately the waffle became soggy very quickly and didn’t hold up as well as the chicken option. I would suggest eating this one quickly, or maybe asking for the fruit on the side if possible. That said, this sweet treat is still a good option for you chocolate & hazelnut nuts out there. This one comes up at a 3 out of 5 on my rumbly in my tumbly scale.
For my Disney Dining Plan peeps – this one does qualify as a snack!
Until next time, be grateful for your plateful!
