If you cast your mind back to our last Monday Merch Meeting, you might recall a Festival of the Arts Spirit Jersey that made a very brief appearance. Seemingly launched by accident, the Spirt Jersey was quickly removed without a trace, though not quickly enough that we missed it! Not long after it launched, the merch listing disappeared, and a little tile was added to Disney’s Coming Soon section, showing that a Festival of the Arts collection merch drop would take place today. It went a little something like this:
Sure enough, because we are friends, here I am, sitting up as the Pacific Time clock strikes midnight to see what this collection has in store for you. Okay, fine, and me; I can’t pretend I don’t love an EPCOT festival merch drop. It’s not as glamorous as the Cinderella moment might sound. There is no glass slipper or energetic animal friends to keep me company, just a barely warm cup of half-drunk tea, a few M&Ms that I am rationing for sustenance, and, of course, my labrador, who has long given up on the mission and fallen asleep mid duty.
So here I am, ready for it to arrive, and, well, it did, kinda. It turns out that roughly 15 minutes into the release, the “collection” (all sarcasm intended) so far only consists of the same two items they accidentally released on Monday. Yes, seriously. The first is that elusive Spirit Jersey from Monday, and the second is the Figment LUG bag, also from Monday, which isn’t even officially a part of the collection. It’s FotA collection adjacent, if you will. Take a look:

Now, I am fully aware that overnight, new items might trickle through and make me look like a dumb duck by morning. So, just in case, I am going to leave you with this screencap so you can see it isn’t me. That Figment Mug and Magic Band from almost two weeks ago aren’t new…
One can only hope that this is not the official release of the Festival of the Arts Collection for those of us at home. At this point, I don’t know what is happening. Maybe they left the rest of the items wherever the December series of the Disney Eats Collection was misplaced? But don’t worry, I’ve got my eyes on this one and will bring you updates as new items appear. My money is on Monday, so we might see a few more things pop up then.
In the meantime, enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts celebration which opens today in Walt Disney World!
