A dream of many Disney World fans is to spend Christmas Day on property, and if you didn’t get to do it in 2023, you can always try to make that dream come true in 2024! It’s a special time at the resort as decorations, themed entertainment, and other unique offerings make their annual appearance. But everyone who spends Christmas on property will choose to celebrate differently. We may have our traditions or preferences when it comes to what resort, park, or restaurant we spend the holiday in. Here is my version of a perfect Christmas Day at Walt Disney World.
Resort: Wilderness Lodge
Wilderness Lodge puts you right in the holiday spirit with its decorations, but also in its overall atmosphere. It’s a cozy and welcoming resort with a bright lobby and massive fireplace. When you think of a cabin-style, winter-like holiday, this resort stands out.
Park: Magic Kingdom
All four parks will be a sea of people on Christmas Day. But I think it’s still worth it to pop into the Magic Kingdom, even if you don’t make it past Main Street. The toy soldiers, massive Christmas tree, and garlands lining the gift shops are always impressive. It perfectly captures the nostalgic feeling of the holiday season.
Dinner: Liberty Tree Tavern or Whispering Canyon Cafe
If you choose to brave the crowds in Magic Kingdom, Liberty Tree Tavern is the perfect place for Christmas dinner. The restaurant serves a traditional holiday meal year-round (includes turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, and mac-and-cheese) in a colonial-themed building. It’s a go-to for many guests during the holidays.
If you’d like to escape the park crowds and enjoy dinner at a resort, Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge is a great option. The restaurant normally offer steaks, fish, and barbecue skillets; but they offer a slightly different seasonal holiday menu to enjoy. Meals at both restaurants are also served family-style and reservations are required.

I am a lifelong Disney fan and have visited the parks my entire life. I was lucky enough to have been a Cast Member as well, spending over two years in Tomorrowland merchandise. I'm excited to share my passion and thoughts on Walt Disney World.
