April isn’t the only time of year when you can expect showers at Walt Disney World. There will almost always be a rainy day on your Disney World vacation. It can drizzle or pour! It might seem like it can be a damper on your vacation, but there are plenty of things to do, even if it rains. Here are some fun ideas:
1) Explore Your Resort
The one you are staying at or a different one. I always like to spend extra time checking out my resort when it rains. It feels like home. When it rains for a long period of time, I usually go and check out another resort, too. Disney’s Grand Floridian and Polynesian are some of my favorites to look around, especially because I don’t think I will ever get to stay there on my budget at this point.
2) Have a Fun Restaurant Experience
There is no rush when it rains. Go to a new restaurant and explore different options. Go to a character or fine dining experience. Enjoying a dinner show might be fun, too. Make the most of it — always order dessert!
3) Do the Indoor Stuff
Ride the indoor rides and take advantage of shorter lines. Some people even line up for the outdoor rides that usually have a long wait, but are temporarily closed because of the rain. Rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Avatar Flight of Passage would be great to wait for, considering that those rides are always packed. Be sure to have your poncho, though, if you do that!
Meet some characters, too: Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell, and Disney Princesses — there are so many to choose from!
4) Watch a Movie or Take a Nap
Catch up on some rest at your resort. You are going to need it, trust me! Relaxing is essential; you are on vacation, after all.
Make the most out of your magical day; a rainy day at Walt Disney World is still a fantastic day!
