Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has announced the name and opening date for its new lobby bar: The Perch, debuting in just a few days on November 10th in the resort’s main lobby.
Inspired by the iconic birdcage that once graced the lobby, The Perch celebrates the resort’s Victorian elegance with rich woodwork, stained glass details, and brass accents. The design pays homage to the resort’s timeless charm while offering a fresh gathering spot for guests.
Across from the new bar, you’ll still find the beloved Victorian cage-style elevator. Construction on the refreshed lobby and bar area has been ongoing for several months, with recent progress revealing new flooring and furniture as the space nears completion.
Here’s a look at the ongoing work and updated finishes:

The Grand Floridian’s Updates
The ongoing renovations include a brand new lobby carpet, a lobby bar inspired by the resort’s birdcage, refreshes to the grand staircase and front desk areas.
The surrounding lobby, staircase and front desk area will also be refreshed with a mix of botanical accents and inviting colors to create an airy, garden-like atmosphere. Disney says the Imagineers have approached this refurbishment with great care and focus in maintaining the heart and story of the Grand Floridian, while adding fresh new life to the lobby for all to enjoy.
As shown in the original rendering, the lobby will feature beautiful new carpeting with Victorian-inspired borders and scrollwork featuring hand-drawn florals inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical studies. Updated furnishings will blend rich finishes and brass accents with cozy, welcoming fabrics–plus a few playful touches inspired by Florida’s natural beauty and Victorian decorating trends.

Lobby work began in April 2025 and will continue through the winter season. Due to construction, the annual Grand Floridian gingerbread display will sadly not be happening this 2025 holiday season. The Tea Room will also be updated, with more details to be shared at a later date.
