Disney just shared a few more details on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, which opens May 26, including our first look at the new Scooter animatronic, what the penguins are looking like since they moved over from Muppet*Vision, and a peek at the new themed on-ride PhotoPass!
Courtyard of Mayhem
As we shared yesterday, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s courtyard is ready to rock. The 40-foot guitar icon has received a psychedelic makeover fit for The Electric Mayhem, in addition to a new paint job for the limo overhead, and colorful posters added to the queue area.
What’s Happening Inside?
The first‑ever Audio‑Animatronics figure of Scooter is brought to life using motion‑capture technology of Scooter the Muppet. By recording and tracking Scooter’s performance, Walt Disney Imagineering was able to build and program a figure that looks, moves, and emotes exactly like Scooter should, right down to the small details.
Joined by the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course), Scooter is doing his best to convince The Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. But will it be enough to get the band across town and on stage in time?
Thanks to the newest technological advancements from Muppet Labs, we’ll board a super‑powered vehicle in the alleyway just behind Studio C known as the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.)!
Once the L.I.M.O. hits zero to sixty, it’s showtime. Guests will rock out to one of five possible tracks, each performed by The Electric Mayhem:

- Born To Be Wild (featuring Camilla the Chicken)
- Love Rollercoaster (featuring Jennifer Hudson & Questlove)
- Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) (featuring Def Leppard)
- Walking on Sunshine (featuring Kelly Clarkson)

New Muppets Merchandise
No encore is complete without the merch, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is turning the volume up to 11 with a brand-new merchandise collection.
The lineup, which can be found at Rock Around the Shop, features a mix of apparel, accessories, and souvenirs designed for fans who want to bring a little rock flair home.
FØØD By Swedish Chef
Just steps from the ride exit, FØØD by Swedish Chef joins the courtyard after party.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets opens May 26 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with Annual Passholder previews beginning May 21, and Disney Vacation Club Member priority access on May 24.
