PizzeRizzo, the new quick service Muppets-themed restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is getting ready for their grand opening tomorrow, November 18, 2016. They opened today for 2 hours, just to get a feel for things with a small soft opening.
The restaurant is themed like Rizzo the rat and his family have owned the two-story space for years. Upstairs, Rizzo’s Deluxe Supreme Banquet Hall is set up like a wedding reception is already in progress, complete with disco ball for dancing.
Pizzas are personal-sized and include vegetable, pepperoni, meat lovers, and cheese. Also on the menu are Meatball subs, Antipasto Salad (Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, mozzarella, kalamata olives, ham, pepperoni, salami, and balsamic vinaigrette), and a Caesar salad for a side dish.
Kids have a choice of cheese pizza, mini chicken sub, or a “Power Pack”, which consists of yogurt, apple slices, carrots, goldfish crackers, apple-cinnamon snack bar, and milk or water.
Desserts are traditional Italian sweets, like cannoli and tiramisu. Guests can indulge in a non-alcoholic Peach Bellini, Wildberry-Basil Lemonade Limoncella, and wine and beer is available for adults.
Though the menu remains similar to Pizza Planet, who previously occupied the space, the interior has been redesigned.
An outdoor seating area has been added on the second level.
My favorite part of the decor happens at night! Check out these photos to see what happens when the restaurant’s neon sign flashes:
What do you think? Are you looking forward to trying out this new restaurant?
Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
