The 4 Weirdest Things You Forgot to Pack for Disney World

Packing for Walt Disney World can be a stressful time. Especially if it’s your family’s first visit. It is easy to forget something when packing for vacation, and Walt Disney World is no exception. In fact I think there are some must have items that can come in handy, but also seem kind of bizarre when packing for Walt Disney World. Here are my top 4 weirdest things to pack for Walt Disney World:

1) Extra Socks

Most likely it will rain at some point during your Walt Disney World vacation. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it might literally rain on your parade. While it can be frustrating to have to stand in the rain it is even worse if you are not prepared.

The thing that bothers me the most after it rains is how wet and soggy my shoes and socks get. Even when the sun comes out after the storm your socks will remain soggy until the end of the night. This is why I recommend packing an extra pair of socks in a backpack along with other rain gear. Putting on a pair of dry socks on will make your feet feel so much better.

2) Garbage Bags

Much like packing extra socks, garbage bags will also be something you and your family will enjoy having when it starts to rain. While ponchos work the best, garbage bags will also work in a pinch. While you and your family might look a little silly it will keep you dry, and is a lot more affordable then the ten-dollar ponchos that the parks sell. Rain in Florida sometimes lasts ten minutes, and buying a ten-dollar poncho for a ten-minute storm seems a little wasteful. If the storm seems to keep up all day long then it might be time to invest in ponchos.

3) External Phone Charger

With MyMagic+ you will find you use your phone a lot more in the parks then you used to. Between checking wait times, changing dinner reservations, and looking at your FastPass times you will drain your phone battery quickly. This is why bringing an external phone charger can really make life easier in Walt Disney World. Having this little battery pack will allow you to look at your phone while you are waiting in line without having to worry that you will run out of power later in the day.

4) Mints

Gum is not sold in Walt Disney World. They don’t sell gum because when guests spit it onto the ground it makes the walkways look dirty, but after a meal I like having fresh breath. With your resort far away you aren’t going to want to return to your resort just to brush your teeth, so keep a tin of mints in your pocket or backpack because they will come in handy.
