Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival offers a variety of beverages to sample, including those for the “Drink Around the World” club. However, with the Florida heat and hopes of keeping up my stamina, I tend to seek out the flavorful non-alcoholic drinks for fun. Here are my top three fresh frozen beverages from Flower and Garden to help beat the heat this year.
3. Tropical Slush
The third on my list can be found at the La Isla Fresca booth sandwiched between the Morocco and France pavilions. This blush-colored frozen drink includes lemonade, grapefruit, and simple syrup. The Tropical Slush provides a nice citrusy tang and leans on the grapefruit as the base flavor, similar to a Paloma. I’ve placed this drink as my number three because although it is refreshing, I’m looking for a balance of light and sweet, and this drink is less sweet.
2. Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade
Due to the photogenic nature of its beautiful bright magenta hue, our next drink is a Flower and Garden favorite. The Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade can be found at the Pineapple Promenade booth near the Port of Entry. Aside from its stunning color, the Violet Lemonade provides a sweet tart candy burst of flavor. I realized that it tastes very similar to the Night Blossom drink at Animal Kingdom’s Pandora, which includes Desert Pear. Despite its popularity, I’ve placed this drink as my number two because it falls more on the sugary-sweet side.
1. Cucumber Watermelon Slushy
My top drink from the festival can be found at the Florida Fresh booth near Disney Traders. The Cucumber Watermelon Slushy evokes memories of bright sunny days with a cool, crisp drink to quench your thirst. This drink packs a slightly salty sour punch against the sweet, refreshing watermelon base. To top it off, you get a little snack cube of watermelon as garnish. This drink is my personal champion in finding a balance of light and sweet.
What drink will you be trying at the festival this year? I challenge you to try all three. Let us know what’s your favorite and remember to reach out to Dreams Unlimited Travel for help planning your next vacation.
