Top 5 Planning Threads on DISboards.com for July 2016

Hi everybody! It’s been a busy and HOT summer down here in Florida and I’m looking forward to focusing on the fall at Walt Disney World; it’s my very favorite time of the year. In the meantime, take a look at my top 5 vacation planning threads from DISboards.com for the month of July!

Pokémon GO took the world by storm last month and the most fun about it for us Disney lovers was being able to catch Pokémon in the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Theme Parks. Poster ‘addiemon‘ started our number 5 thread entitled “Pokémon GO In the Parks?” over on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board and there’s lots of tips and even some photos of Pokémon that Guests have caught for those of you planning a Disney Parks visit. I love how your phone sort-of turns into a camera during the game so you can really get creative with the shots you take. Come on over and join the discussion to share your experiences with Pokémon GO in the Parks!

If any of you are anything like me (and I know you are!), you like to research everything and plan lots before your Disney vacations. Poster ‘JulieNMM‘ started the thread entitled “I’m back, and what I noticed in the parks vs what I read here” where she’s compared some things she experienced personally in the Parks during her vacation with what she read on DISboards.com prior to her trip. From tour groups to MagicBands, I find it so interesting and helpful to read about how different things are perceived by different people. Look for this thread over on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board.

Last month was kind of a big deal around here; it was the 10th Anniversary celebration for the DIS Unplugged! Take a look at the DIS Unplugged Podcast board and peek at the thread in our 3rd spot entitled “DIS Unplugged 10th Anniversary – Official Information Thread” that was started by ‘WebmasterJohn‘ when the celebration was in the planning stages. You’ll see fun photos from the weekend including stories from many posters who were able to join us. I’m confident in saying that a fun time was had by all!

If you didn’t have a chance to watch the live show that was recorded in the gorgeous Cirque Du Soleil theater at Disney Springs, I’ll drop it here for you.

You might be wondering why I’ve included this thread in the top 5 – well, it just so happens that there is some discussion there about a big anniversary coming up next summer for DISboards.com that you may need to start planning for!

With so much construction going on at the Walt Disney World Resort, a hopping thread you’ll want to be sure to stay on top of takes the 4th spot and can be found on our Rumors and News board and is entitled “Major WDW projects completion dates.” This thread was started by our Rumors and News forum Moderator ‘rteetz‘ and includes a great list of updated dates for ongoing or upcoming projects for Walt Disney World and the best part about it is that the list will be edited and updated as things are announced and completed.

If you haven’t visited the Walt Disney World Resort in a few years and don’t know what MagicBands are all about, you’ll want to check out the number 5 thread entitled “Everything you need to know about MagicBands” thread over on our Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board. Poster ‘Accident‘ started this thread and works hard to keep it up-to-date with any changes so that you’ll be in-the-know with how it all works.
