March brings throw-back vibes to our ’80s / ’90s childhoods with the new specialty range of flavors from one Disney Springs snack stop. If your weekends started with a bowl of sugary cereal and a healthy dose of the Disney Channel, or if you were in Australia, it was Saturday Disney. Salt & Straw in both Disney Springs at the Walt Dinsey World Resort and Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort have a new range honoring this tradition, including the return of an old favorite! Meet the Cereal-sly Delicious Series:
Pots of Gold and Rainbows
It’s baaaaaack. For this legendary favorite, we hand-sort the luck from the charms, steeping the whole-grain cereal in cream for that memorable bottom-of-the-bowl sweetness before stirring in mountains of rainbow ‘mallows. Grab a spoon—it’s magically indulgent.
Snap N’ Crackle Marshmallow Treats
IYKYK—and if you don’t, here’s your chance! Our playful take on ooey gooey brown butter treats has returned. Crushed krispies and whipped marshmallows are baked into delicate lace Florentines for a snaptastic crunch, then smashed and scattered through salted vanilla ice cream. Who could blame you for devouring the whole tray—er, pint?
Peanut Butter Brownie Cereal Puffs
Irresistible straight out of the box, chocolate peanut butter puffs are pure bliss on ice cream—or in this case, as ice cream. We churn chocolate and sweet cream together, then marble it with velvety smooth peanut butter. Bite-sized brownies are double-baked and drenched in a sticky peanut butter glaze, then tossed in pulverized ground Reese’s Puffs before diving into our milk chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Indulge in a snack attack that’s all grown up (kind of).
Cornflake Cookies with Marionberry Jam
Crispy, golden cornflakes made their debut on breakfast tables in 1894 and have since coated chicken thighs, topped casseroles and given french toast an unexpected crunch. But we believe their true calling is in cookies. We brown mounds of butter, tossing the flakes in to soak up the nutty richness and infuse a deep butterscotch flavor into the batter. Then, we crumble those cookies into a malty, rich, cornflake-flecked ice cream. Swirled with gobs of marionberry jam, this classic cereal gets reinvented into a Salt & Straw favorite.
Captain’s Berried Treasure (v)
Shiver me timbers; it’s a new dairy-free flavor bound to make waves! A blend of coconut and oat milk steeps with the craggy cereal squares, and piles of brightly colored ‘crunch berries’ made in-house swim through the sweet creaminess. Freeze-dried strawberries baked into crumbly cookies create the vibrant red bursts, while the purple berries get their flavor and hue from freeze-dried blackberries. All spoons on deck for this new delight!
