Which Disney World Attractions are CLOSED in June 2025?

Summer crowds are rolling in, the Florida sun is shining, and while there’s plenty of magic to be found around every corner at Walt Disney World, a few fan-favorite attractions are hitting the pause button—or bowing out altogether. Whether it’s for a refurbishment refresh or a permanent curtain call, here’s what you need to know about what’s closed at Walt Disney World in June 2025.

Spoiler alert: One of them really hurts.

Magic Kingdom

Even the Most Magical Place on Earth needs to do a little maintenance now and then, and this month a few classic attractions are temporarily off the lineup:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – CLOSED

Hold onto your hats and glasses—because this wildest ride in the wilderness is taking a break. Big Thunder is down for scheduled refurbishment and expected to reopen in Spring 2026. While no major changes have been announced, the lengthy refurbishment which began earlier this year leaves us speculating if we’ll be getting that explosive scene from Disneyland…

Astro Orbiter – CLOSED

Need a spin through the galaxy? You’ll have to wait. Astro Orbiter is closed for mechanical refurbishment. It’s not the flashiest ride in the park, but it is one of the best views of Tomorrowland (especially at night), so we’ll be glad when it’s back in orbit.

The Hall of Presidents – CLOSED

The patriotic centerpiece of Liberty Square is currently dark for updates. Disney hasn’t confirmed whether it’s routine maintenance or something more involved. There is currently no reopening date.

EPCOT

Test Track – CLOSED for Major Reimagining

Test Track has been closed for months as Disney and Chevrolet collaborate on an all-new version of the high-speed attraction, drawing inspiration from the original World of Motion. No exact opening date has been announced for Test Track 3.0, but Disney has set expectations for “later this summer”.

This is where the news hits hardest.

Muppet*Vision 3D – PERMANENTLY CLOSING June 7th

That’s not a typo. Muppet*Vision 3D is officially closing after more than three decades of laughs, Muppet chaos, and minute-and-a-half grand finales. The last performance for guests to enjoy this iconic attraction will be June 7th, 2025— and it’s the end of an era.

Created by Jim Henson himself, Muppet*Vision opened in 1991 and stands as one of the final projects Henson worked on before his passing. It blended classic vaudeville-style comedy with early 3D effects and a whole lot of heart. For many fans, it was a staple of every visit—a must-do that delivered the same comfort and laughter year after year.

PizzeRizzo is also permanently shutting its doors June 7th, as the entire Grand Avenue section of the park gets reimagined into a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. We’re excited for new attractions and the future of the Muppets, but it’s the end of the Muppet Courtyard as we know it—and it stings just a little (…okay, a lot).

Here’s hoping that Miss Piggy fountain reappears in the park at a later date!

“It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights…”
— and now it’s time to say goodbye. Thank you, Muppet*Vision. You made us laugh when we needed it most.

Planning Around Closures

While some attractions are offline this month, there’s still plenty to enjoy at each park. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for up-to-date info on closures, reopening dates, and showtimes during your visit.

And if you want one last look at Muppet*Vision, you’ve got until June 7th. Don’t miss it. Bring tissues.
