Whether you loved Splash Mountain or can’t wait for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (or, like me, you are both!), the wait is almost over for this exciting log ride to return! The official date is out of the bag and we are already counting down the days until the June 28th opening of Disney’s latest attraction. Yesterday, just after the news was announced, I immediately noticed an influx of posts online with guests looking to adjust their plans around the date. Some are looking to shift their dates a little bit to be there for the opening, and others are swapping around park reservations to be in Magic Kingdom on or after the attraction opens its doors. Currently, park reservations (non-date-based tickets* see below) for Magic Kingdom remain available; however, we don’t expect it will be long before we see that particular park turn yellow and then grey for June 28th.
*If you aren’t sure if you need a theme park reservation for Walt Disney World, check the guide below against your ticket type.

Like many others, we are eagerly awaiting more details about how the queueing system for this new ride will work. If other modern attraction openings are anything to judge by, a standby lane is the least likely scenario, with most people placing their bets on either a Virtual Queue, Individual Lightning Lane, or perhaps a combination of both. With state-of-the-art audio-animatronics, award-winning musicians, and all the real-life magic straight from New Orleans, the new attraction will surely tempt many into a dedicated trip to Walt Disney World.
When will your first visit to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure be? Will you be making a special visit to Walt Disney World or adding it to an existing trip? For those of you closer to the West Coast, like me, you might prefer to wait until later this year when the new ride opens in Disneyland Park. No dates have been announced for this yet, though Disney did recently affirm a 2024 opening was still expected later in the year.
