This week, rumors have been swirling that Jellyrolls, a dueling piano bar located along Disney’s BoardWalk, might be closing. This bar has been a fun way to extend your Disney days long after the theme parks closed, and many folks are upset at the thought that it may be closing its doors soon.
We absolutely love Jellyrolls and go every visit. It’s the highlight of my trip! The entertainers are better than I’ve seen in any part of the country. They need to put something to replace Big River, and do something with the dance hall which is never crowded. Jellyrolls packs them in! It really makes no sense and I am really hoping this rumor isn’t true. ~@melbatoast
Despite having a cover charge, guests flock to the bar, where they submit requests written on napkins to the two piano players on stage. The show is always a hoot, and I’ve really enjoyed my visits there. I visited with my family in 2008, and my parents were pulled up onto the stage, where the entertainers asked them some of the funniest questions about their marriage. We happened to be celebrating their anniversary during that trip, and it was so fun to see them sitting back-to-back, laughing their heads off up there. It’s definitely an experience I won’t soon forget!
Of course, with rumors like this, it’s important to remember that Orlando locals are often friends with some of the Disney cast members who share these kinds of things to get rumors going. There has been no official word from Disney regarding Jellyrolls closing down, but we’ll share it right here if and when it becomes official.
