At a press event taking place Thursday morning at the Walt Disney World Resort, MagicBand+ has just been announced.
These new MagicBands will light up, vibrate, and interact based on where a guest is in the theme parks and what that guest is doing at the time.
Additionally, the MagicBand+ will interact with golden Fab 50 statues that can be found throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Guests using MagicBand+ will also have access to “play like a bounty hunter” throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new MagicBands will also illuminate and “complement the magic in the skies” during ECPOT’s Harmonious and Disney Enchantment in the Magic Kingdom.
MagicBand+ is slated to release in 2022.
Details from Disney regarding purchasing MagicBand+:
MagicBand+ will be available for purchase beginning next year, including a discounted, pre-arrival price for Disney Resort hotel guests as well as new and renewing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. Current MagicBands will continue to be available, too, along with the complimentary Disney MagicMobile service that extends MagicBand features, such as park entry, to smart devices.
