Disney Unveils Signage for The Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom

Disney has officially revealed the signage for its newest Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, The Beak and Barrel, at Magic Kingdom, drawing excitement from fans of the classic attraction, movie franchise, and theme park enthusiasts alike. The lounge is set to open on August 29th in the heart of Adventureland – occupying the former location of The Pirates League, which closed in 2020.

The newly unveiled signage offers a sneak peek into the lounge’s theming outside of previously-released concept art. The outdoor sign, shaped like a weathered pirate map, features pirate iconography like a skull and crossed swords, treasure islands, and a colorful parrot (Known as Peg-Legged Pete or Rummy, depending on who you ask or what you prefer) perched playfully over the word “and.” The design sets a whimsical yet adventurous tone, in line with the world of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Just outside the entrance, the second sign is crafted from aged wood and styled like a swinging tavern plaque, complete with rustic rope rigging and clusters of barnacles.

Located at the exit of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, The Beak & Barrel is expected to be a go-to hideaway for guests looking to relax with themed beverages, small bites, and perhaps some hidden pirate lore. Disney has previously released the lounge’s full menu, including souvenir glass offerings.

The first round of reservations for The Beak and Barrel opened yesterday, August 20th, following an unexpected delay due to a reservation system outage on the originally scheduled launch day last week. Despite the hiccup, reservations through October 19th were quickly snatched up within 90 minutes, showcasing the lounge’s high demand.

Those who missed out on initial reservations are encouraged to keep checking availability in the My Disney Experience app, in case any additional spots open up!

What do you think of The Beak and Barrel’s look so far?
