The New Stories of EPCOT: 8 Countdown Disney Movies

There is something extra magical about planning a trip to EPCOT, where the future, culture, and storytelling all collide. To keep the countdown energy high, we suggest curating a few movie nights that tie directly into the park’s attractions and themes. Watching these stories ahead of your visit makes the whole experience feel more immersive, giving you an extra layer of connection as you explore the World Showcase or set off on your next big adventure.

Moana

There is never a bad reason to watch Moana, but if you’re looking for another excuse to sing your way through this Pacific Island tale, an upcoming trip to EPCOT is it. Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana is a great way to connect the story of Moana with your park experience, reacquainting you with the importance of the natural world and its essential part in the story.

Beauty and the Beast

It’s a tale as old as time! Beauty and the Beast is an animated classic in the Disney Princess library and one that you will want to brush up on before enjoying the Beauty and the Beast Sing Along in EPCOT’s World Showcase, France Pavilion. Relearn all your words and fall back in love with the whimsical characters that make this Disney story one for the ages.

Finding Nemo

If you are enjoying a day in EPCOT, no experience would be complete without taking a spin through The Seas with Nemo and Friends or Turtle Talk with Crush. Brushing up on your Finding Nemo characters and storyline in advance can enhance the immersion between these two attractions. And while it’s not directly related, if you have a fan of Nemo, we suggest a lunch or dinner stop at Coral Reef to keep the underwater journey going!

Frozen

Frozen lovers will find themselves at home in the Norway pavilion in World Showcase, where the Frozen Ever After attraction awaits. Afterward, grab an authentic bite to eat from the bakery or stop by to meet Anna and Elsa before you go. Add a showing of Disney’s Frozen to your watch list before you leave home!

Guardians of the Galaxy

The newest addition of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has introduced long-standing Marvel fans to the EPCOT theme park in a whole new way. Once you’ve seen the movie, you will understand the significance of the music and camaraderie between the characters in a whole new way, giving you so much more enjoyment during the ride.

Alice in Wonderland

During your tour of World Showcase, venture over to the United Kingdom pavilion for a Meet & Greet opportunity with Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Though you will find more of a presence in the form of attractions in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park, this experience is a rare opportunity to meet Alice in person.

Mulan

Another character opportunity that you won’t find in many other places. Mulan can be found in the China pavilion of World Showcase, a great sneaky spot to take advantage of if you are on a mission to collect autographs! Don’t miss seeing the cultural coming-of-age story of Mulan with the family before you visit to set the scene for your character encounter.

Ratatouille

Possibly my favorite film to watch before visiting EPCOT: Ratatouille. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is waiting for you in the France pavilion in World Showcase, taking you inside Remy’s world and into the movie’s adventure. All aspects of this attraction are enhanced when you have the story and characters fresh in your mind!
