Big Dining Changes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as DinoLand Goes Extinct

Big changes are on the horizon for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as the park prepares for the transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into the upcoming Tropical Americas land. As part of this phased overhaul, Disney announced today that multiple dining locations will be closing – some permanently and others temporarily.

Farewell to Trilo-Bites and Dino-Bite Snacks

Two beloved snack spots in DinoLand U.S.A. will permanently close after October 19, 2025:

  • Dino-Bite Snacks, home to hand-scooped ice cream treats

These kiosks have been part of the DinoLand experience for years, and while their departure marks the end of an era, Disney isn’t letting their most popular menu items go extinct:

  • The Buffalo Chicken Chips will migrate to Eight Spoon Café on Discovery Island
  • Flavored DOLE Whip floats will live on at Warung Outpost in Asia
  • Hand-scooped ice cream will return in February 2026, with a new location to be announced

While it’s always hard to say goodbye (especially to ice cream and dinosaurs) this is just one step in the larger transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. The land will gradually make way for the Tropical Americas, a new immersive area inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones, set to debut in 2027. Restaurantosaurus and DINOSAUR are both closing February 2nd (last day to enjoy is February 1st!), with both being reimagined to fit the new theme.

Harambe Market Gets a Menu Makeover

Over in Africa, Harambe Market will temporarily close starting October 20, 2025, and reopen in early 2026 with a revamped menu. The refreshed location will focus on American favorites like burgers and chicken strips, filling the quick-service gap left by the upcoming February closing of Restaurantosaurus.

During the downtime, Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery will step up to serve lunch, featuring some of Harambe Market’s more popular dishes, including rice bowls and wraps.

While some of us may feel a pang of nostalgia watching DinoLand U.S.A. slowly fade into history, there’s plenty of excitement ahead. The transition to Tropical Americas promises new flavors, storytelling, and adventure. Until then, be sure to grab one last bite at Trilo-Bites or Dino-Bite Snacks before they disappear – and keep an eye out for where your favorite snacks pop up next!
