Disneyland Park Hopping Gets Easier Starting June 9

Disneyland is finally making the change that many people have been waiting for since it was announced earlier this year.

Starting June 9, 2026, guests with Park Hopper tickets and Magic Key passes won’t have to sit around waiting until 11 a.m. to switch parks anymore. You’ll be able to go back and forth between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure much earlier in the day, which just makes everything feel a lot less restrictive.

There is still one small catch. You’ll need to pick a starting park when you make your reservation. Once you scan into that first park, though, you’re free to move between both parks whenever you want, as long as they’re not at capacity.

If you’ve been visiting Disneyland over the last few years, you already know how limiting that 11 a.m. rule could be. It didn’t necessarily ruin the day, but it definitely forced you to plan your morning a certain way, whether you liked it or not. Want to rope drop in one park and then immediately head to the other? Not happening.

This change fixes that.

Now you can grab breakfast in Disneyland, hop over to DCA for a ride, then head back later without having to structure your entire morning around a clock. It sounds simple, but it actually opens up a lot more flexibility, especially if you’re trying to fit a lot into a shorter trip.

It also helps if you’re juggling things like Lightning Lanes, dining reservations, or just trying to follow the lower wait times between parks. You’re not going to be stuck waiting for a specific time anymore.

That said, this isn’t a total free-for-all. Park Hopping is still subject to availability, so if one park fills up, you might have to wait before heading over. That part isn’t changing.

Still, this feels like Disney loosening the reins a bit after a few years of more structured rules. It brings back some of that old-school Disneyland spontaneity where you could just go where you wanted, when you wanted.

And for a lot of guests, that’s a pretty big win.
