Marvel to skip San Diego Comic-Con?

In a recent casual interview on Facebook, James Gunn, director of “Guardians of the Galaxy”, hinted that Marvel Studios may be skipping Comic-Con.

San Diego Comic-Con is held each summer in July and in recent years one of the hottest tickets has been the Marvel presentations, but according to Gunn, “Marvel isn’t going so I’m not sure I will.”

There has been no official word from Marvel Entertainment.

Marvel skipped San Diego Comic-Con in 2011 as well opting to focus on the New York Comic-Con.  The D23 Expo will be held this year in August, which only adds to the speculation that Marvel will pass on San Diego.

According to officials from Comic-Con, scheduling of presentations won’t begin until May, with schedules released closer to summer.
