A DoorDash driver faces a felony charge after deputies say he pointed a handgun at a Disney bus at Walt Disney World before continuing to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort to make a food delivery.
According to ClickOrlando, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the incident around 9 PM on Monday, October 5. Investigators said a white Jeep was traveling on East Buena Vista Drive near Bonnet Creek Parkway when the confrontation occurred.
A witness told deputies the Jeep had stopped at a green light with a Disney bus behind it. When the Jeep failed to move, the bus driver honked the horn. The witness said the Jeep’s driver got out and approached the bus before returning to his vehicle, reaching into the center console and pulling out a black semi-automatic handgun. He then allegedly pointed the weapon directly at the Disney bus driver.
The Jeep reportedly continued to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort after the incident. Deputies located the vehicle near the resort lobby but initially found it empty.
Shortly afterward, 25-year-old David Charlot approached a deputy and explained that he was using the Jeep to make a DoorDash delivery. Charlot acknowledged having a handgun inside the vehicle but denied pointing it at anyone or interacting with the bus driver.
Deputies then reviewed security camera footage from the Disney bus. According to the arrest affidavit, the video showed Charlot pointing a black handgun at the driver before leaving the area.
Deputies arrested Charlot on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
Authorities have not identified a motive for Charlot allegedly pulling the firearm. The affidavit describes the bus driver honking after the Jeep remained stopped at a green light immediately before the confrontation, but investigators have not publicly stated what prompted the alleged escalation beyond that encounter.
