Disney apologizes to Japan over tweet mistake

Walt Disney Japan had to apologize earlier this week after sending out a tweet on the 70th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Nagasaki saying “congratulations on a not special day”.

The tweet was originally sent out in English, saying “A very merry unbirthday to you! ألعاب لربح المال ” as a nod to the film Alice in Wonderland. When translated to Japanese, it changed the meaning to “not special”. Commenters were quick to criticize the mistake. كيف تربح في لعبة الروليت
