Disney Says World of Color to ‘Return in the Next Several Months’

Despite fan speculation to the contrary, it appears that World of Color, Disney California Adventure‘s nighttime spectacular on Paradise Bay, won’t be returning until sometime in 2019.

After reports of recent testing of the show’s fountains, fans had been hopeful that the popular show would be returning for the holidays, however, Disneyland Resort spokesperson Liz Jaeger said in a statement today to the Orange County Register:

We know our guests love World of Color and we have been working diligently to bring this experience back as soon as we can. We are hopeful the show will return in the next several months.

World of Color has been dark since April after its expected return was delayed for more extensive repairs. Disney has not confirmed publicly the source of the problems, but rumors point to problems with a control panel that was left open when the show’s platform was submerged.

This morning, prior to the reports from the Orange County Register, the Disneyland Resort replied to a tweet regarding World of Color with a more hopeful outlook:

Hello! The show is expected to return towards the end of this year. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more information.
