Have you ever noticed that there are a few of the Disney characters that are notoriously absent from common merchandise lines? Whenever I see a Mickey & Friends design, it usually includes Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy, with one particular friend missing from the lineup. That guy is Donald Duck, and while it completely makes sense that this fellow might not be the biggest fan of posing for photos, we have started to wonder why his merchandise was so few and far between. Even Daisy seems to get more of a look in than Donald. Well, Donald Duck fans, it’s your lucky day because there is a new merch series coming in just a few month’s time to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of this adorably cranky character, and we have your first look at what will be included.
We expect that this new collection will arrive in early June. After all, Donald’s official anniversary is on June 9th, from his creation in 1934. Disney Parks Blog has given us some teaser information with the following statement:
One of your favorite Disney characters – Donald Duck – will have his chance in the spotlight. In just a few months, you will see Donald Duck Spirit Jerseys, Loungefly backpacks and more merchandise, all designed with art pulled from the vault! You can find this collection in the parks at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and online at Disney Store!
