The latest Discovery mug series from Starbucks and Disney Parks released earlier this year, but I recently stopped into Red Trolley Car Cafe and they were looking freshly-stocked. I hadn’t closely inspected the design at Disney’s Hollywood Studios just yet… let’s say this classic Disney-MGM Studios fan was pleasantly surprised.
This Disney Parks x Starbucks Discovery mug is packed with common iconography from today’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios, like Star Wars and Toy Story, but there’s specific details that got me (yes, ME) to purchase this mug. Take a look!
The mug’s color scheme is mostly orange and yellow with red and teal accents, and the wrap-around design includes:
- Sorcerer Mickey (cue the Fantasmic! theme)
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror prominently displayed as it is DHS’ current park icon
- Gertie, the dinosaur of Echo Lake
- Little Green Alien from Toy Story
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster guitar
- Miss Piggy Statue of Liberty fountain, as seen outside Muppet Vision 3*D (ICONIC)
- Crossroads of the World, the kiosk at the park’s entrance with Mickey Mouse atop a spinning globe
- Mickey & Minnie in their car from Runaway Railway, complete with a little Chuuby flying nearby
- A Stormtrooper and BB unit droid next to the Millennium Falcon
- A Ronto Wrap from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
- Belle & Beast of the Theater of the Stars stage show
- A Popcorn Bucket
- Pixar Ball
The mug costs $24.99, and Annual Passholder discounts do apply on any merchandise purchased inside Starbucks locations!
There are also mini espresso mug ornaments available ($19.99 each), but this design noticeably does NOT feature Tower of Terror, Gertie the dinosaur, nor the Miss Piggy fountain… but I’m including photos here, you know, in case you’re still interested:
