A few weeks ago, we announced the upcoming Donald Duck 90th Anniversary merchandise series, and there was an unexpected reaction from the DIS Community. We were overwhelmed with the reactions and comments to this news story from fans who were excited to see Mr. Donald Duck finally get some merch they could invest in. It is a bit strange that even though Donald is an official member of the inner Mickey & Friends circle, he doesn’t get much of a look in when it comes to being celebrated with merch. It got me thinking about the Disney merchandise merry-go-round and what other characters might be being neglected along the way.
Today, we are asking you what is missing from your Disney shopping experience that you would like to see introduced. For me, I’d like to see more items themed around our favorite attractions. I love the attractions and items that are centered around my favorites would definitely get my attention. I don’t need a Spirit Jersey or T-shirt, but just about anything else. Figurines, posters, homewares, anything. Can you imagine a plate set with all the different attractions in beautiful artwork featured on each one? A serving platter depicting a wide angle down Main Street, U.S.A.? Salt and pepper shakers in the shape of iconic statues from the parks? You could set a whole table out to look like a Disney park map. Or, a series of jars for your kitchen countertop that are all designed like the floats of the Electrical Parade.
So that’s mine. What’s your merch wish that is missing from the current lineup? Do you need more Tinker Bell in your life? Or would a Magic Kingdom map umbrella go nicely in your collection? Let me know what’s on your Disney merchandise wish list!
