Recently, I had a chance to stay at the Sheraton Park Hotel near the Anaheim Convention Center, and just down the street from the Disneyland Resort. The location makes it convenient for guests splitting their time between a convention and time in the theme parks.
The Disneyland Resort is surrounded by locally owned and chain non-Disney eateries, lodging and more, so sometimes there are some great options (and values) to be had just outside of the gates. When it comes to hotels, Disney has partnered with nearly 60 area hotels that can be included with your tickets as part of a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package.
The Sheraton Park is a full-service hotel with dining and shopping options onsite, as well as attached convention facilities and a business center. It sits on Harbor Boulevard, just east of the Anaheim Convention Center.
The hotel tower features 490 upscale rooms, with many of them featuring full balconies. I was booked in a Traditional King room, though I did end up on the same floor as the Club Level rooms.
The spacious room featured a comfortable king-size with simple white bedding and plenty of fluffy pillows.
The room also included a sitting area and work area. Yet even with all of that furniture, there was still room to move around.
One cool thing about the table is that you’re able to raise it up, in order to use it as a standing desk…or maybe a cocktail table.
There is plenty of storage in the room, both under the bench and in the attached armoire.
As with most hotel rooms, the bathroom was just off the entry. My only disappointment with this room was the non-locking sliding door in the bathroom.
As with the rest of the room, the bathroom is roomy and features a nice amount of shelving and counter space, plus a large walk-in shower.
My view from the balcony featured the Sheraton’s large pool and hot tub area. As you can probably gather from the pictures, this area was underutilized on the weekend I visited.
In addition to the water features, the pool deck features plenty of seating, a bar, and some outdoor games.
Inside the lobby building, you’ll find a full-service restaurant, along with a combination counter service eatery and gift shop, plus a bar near the entrance.
Savor Stone Hearth Pizza & Wine features both indoor and outdoor seating. The nearby gift shop, the World Market, serves Starbucks coffees, along with sandwiches, pizzas, baked goods, and packaged snacks.
If you’re looking for something a little fancier, you’ll find Morton’s The Steakhouse just steps away.
The Sheraton Park is within walking distance of the Disneyland Resort, but for families that need it, transportation is provided by the Anaheim Regional Transportation for a nominal fee using their app. A one-day pass is $2.50 for children (3-9) and $6.00 for adults. Longer passes are available as well.
There is plenty of parking on-site at a rate of $32 (plus tax) for self-parking and $38 (plus tax) per day for valet parking. Because of the package that I booked through Dreams Unlimited Travel, my daily parking fee was just $18. Please check with your Dreams agent if you plan to park a car and have them check for special rates.
The Sheraton Park Hotel is definitely worth checking out. As I said in the beginning, the location is perfect for families heading to both conventions and the Disneyland Resort. While the Anaheim Marriott and Hilton Anaheim are a bit closer to the convention center, the size of both of those properties can be somewhat daunting. One thing that you will want to check into if any of those properties is on your radar and you DON’T plan on attending a convention, is the schedule for the Anaheim Convention Center, as rates may be lower when that huge venue sits empty.
Next trip I will be staying a little closer to Disneyland in what is one of the closest, and most popular, Good Neighbor Hotels. Until then, please let me know what other hotels in the area you would like to know more about.
