With the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Disneyland in full swing, folks are getting excited about their trips to the Disneyland Resort this summer. While this celebration is an exciting time with new entertainment, decorations, food, and more, don’t fret if you can’t get to Anaheim this summer. To me, there really is no bad time to visit Disneyland, and with the celebration continuing for a while, you may even be able to combine a “70th” visit with one of the many other seasonal events the Disneyland Resort is known for.
As summer winds down, the pumpkins appear and the entire Resort celebrates HalloweenTime. Jack Skellington takes over the Haunted Mansion and Oogie Boogie looms over Disney California Adventure, with his Oogie Boogie Bash selling out almost every night. Meet characters in their Halloween best at both parks and maybe even a villain or two. Halloween and Disney fans alike will find something to enjoy about a trip to the Disneyland Resort in the fall.
Even before the pumpkins wane, snow begins falling on Sleeping Beauty Castle as the hint of the holidays comes. The Holidays at Disneyland are magical, with classic parades and fireworks, snow on Main Street, U.S.A., handmade candy canes, my favorite peppermint ice cream, and of course, a visit with Santa.
Over at Disney California Adventure, Festival of Holidays brings to life seasonal food, drink and entertainment, including the incredible ¡Viva Navidad! A trip to the Disneyland Resort for the Holidays really should be on every Disney fan’s bucket list.
As the snow melts and a new year begins, it’s time for Lunar New Year. This popular month-long celebration at Disney California Adventure highlights Asian culture, food, and entertainment. With the holiday crowds in the rearview mirror, this is always a wonderful time to enjoy a Disneyland vacation.
Spring brings with it the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, with food booths and entertainment throughout the park, plus the return of Soarin’ Over California. The festival typically runs 7-8 weeks, so there is plenty of time to find the perfect week to book a vacation to Disneyland and check out the incredible Disneyland food (and wine).
And just like that, we’re back to summer 2026…and the 70th Celebration continues.
I hope I’ve made my point, because it really is true that any time of the year is a great time to visit Disneyland, and the best time to book a Disneyland Resort vacation is NOW.
With the Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa onsite, plus over 60 Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels (most within walking distance), there’s an option for every family and every budget. Keep in mind that booking early will save you money, and if you book with one of the friendly Dreams Unlimited Travel agents, they will continue to monitor your reservation for any future discounts.
As I was writing this article, the memories of all of these special times of the year came flooding back, and as someone who visits the Disneyland Resort often, I consider myself lucky that I don’t have to choose one time of the year over another. They are ALL my favorites!
