Could Disney Pixar’s New ‘Hoppers’ Take Over Redwood Creek?

Hey friends, there is a little corner of Redwood Creek Challenge Trail that I’ve always felt had so much more potential than it’s currently using. Tucked into a beautiful, leafy pocket of Disney California Adventure, the area is essentially a sprawling kids’ playground. It’s lovely, peaceful, and wonderfully shaded, but let’s be honest. Unless you are visiting with younger kids who need somewhere to climb and burn off some energy, it’s a space many guests simply walk right past.

Over the years, I’ve often wondered if this might be one of the most underused pieces of real estate in the park. Imagine the possibilities if Disney connected this natural setting with a beloved story. I’ve long thought an attraction inspired by Up would have been absolutely perfect here. Instead, the space has remained largely the same, quietly existing beside the action rather than feeling like a real part of the park’s storytelling.

Now, with Disney Pixar’s Hoppers hopping onto the scene, I can’t help but wonder if this could finally be the opportunity Disney has been waiting for. The upcoming Pixar film follows a young girl who uses new technology to place her consciousness inside a robotic beaver, allowing her to experience life in the animal world while helping protect nature. With its forest setting and animal-focused adventure, the tone feels surprisingly aligned with the rustic environment already built into Redwood Creek.

As we shared last week, there are a few limited-time offerings in Redwood Creek for the debut of the film, but we’d love to see them stick around.

Imagine a refreshed version of the space that leans into that woodland storytelling. Disney could modernize the playground concept with interactive exploration areas inspired by the animals and environments from the film, or even redevelop the area entirely into something new that still celebrates the natural beauty that makes this part of the park so special.

So now I’m curious what you think. Could Hoppers be the missing link that helps integrate Redwood Creek more fully into Disney California Adventure, bridging the gap between the park’s strong Pixar presence and an area many guests skip unless they have a preschooler in tow? Or would you rather see this quiet forest corner stay exactly as it is?
