On a recent Disneyland visit, I noticed this statue of Big Al (from Country Bear Jamboree fame) near the entrance to Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure. Not only does he make a great photo op against the white-water wilderness backdrop, he’ll also say a line or two if you wave a MagicBand+ near him.
But wait, there’s more! In case you forgot a FuelRod or phone battery, just next to the statue you’ll find a small structure that reads “Big Al’s Chargin’ Station”. It’s simply an electrical outlet under a pint-sized portico, complete with carved tree supports, roof shingles, and scalloped ridges. If you brought your plug-in phone charger, it’s quite the welcoming abode for your phone to sit and stay a while. I don’t know about you, but this is the cutest charging station I’d ever done seen.
This might only be a single-outlet phone charging station, but it’s little details like this I love about Disney’s parks. Be sure to pay Big Al a visit on your next Disneyland trip!
Alright, thanks for bear-in’ with me.
