Small Bytes is part of the extensive renovations to the newly opened Pixar Place Hotel and is located on the third floor pool deck area. The menu consist of a wide range of beverages including ice cream floats, cocktails, wine, beer, and both small and big “bytes.” Perfect for lunch by the pool or an afternoon snack!

How cute are these umbrellas from the Pixar short, The Blue Umbrella? Before even trying the menu, I was blown away by the amount of seating – most of which is shaded by umbrellas to keep you cool in the California sun. This is such a great spot to enjoy the amenities of the Pixar Place Hotel! All in the same area you can find outdoor games like shuffleboard and corn hole, multiple outdoor fireplaces and firepits, the Finding Nemo-themed splash pad and slide, and of course the pool.
To cool off, I chose the recommended Blackberry Bourbon Smash for $22. Made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, blackberries, ginger beer, and lemon, this was both refreshing and not overly sweet or sour. Despite the steep price of $22, the Buffalo Trace Bourbon definitely came through and made it a “treat yo self” cocktail worth having!
Ryno went for the Hard Reboot Limoncello Adult Float for $18. Ryno’s was accidentally missing the yuzu sorbet listed in the ingredients but was also made with limoncello, sparkling wine, Limonata soda, whipped cream, and crushed lemon candy. This was another drink we agreed was worth getting again! It was light and perfect for sipping poolside on an afternoon break.
For snacks, we started things off with the Mega Soft Pretzel served with yellow mustard and queso dipping sauces for $12. Our pretzel was definitely overcooked and could have used some salt. However, it was a big, shareable snack for $12. I think with the right execution this could be a winner! For now I will stick with Pym’s Quantum Pretzel over in Avengers Campus!
Small Bytes also has their own house-made chips with your choice of dipping sauce for $15. We chose the BBQ chips with creamy salsa dipping sauce and it was SPICY! The chips were definitely fresh and had a great level of flavor, but the creamy salsa took them to the next level. You can also get classic potato chips, sour cream and onion chips, and French onion dip. The chips and dips options are subject to change so be sure to ask!
Ryno and I both agreed, the clear winner had to be the Smash Burger for $18. We loved the addition of sweet Hawaiian rolls as the bun and made it easy to cut into fours – another bite perfect for sharing. The burger was cooked perfectly had plenty of cheese and sauce. Be sure to get this one during your stay at the Pixar Place Hotel!
Small Bytes offers a nice addition to the Pixar Place Hotel and another place to soak in the incredible theming of the resort! We only wish it was open later in the evenings so we could enjoy that delicious smash burger by the cozy firepits.
