There has been a lot of excitement building for quite some time now about the opening of Avengers Campus inside Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort. The new land was originally supposed to open in the summer of 2020.
Out-of-state visitors cannot visit Disneyland theme parks until the 15th of July, but we have to share these new details with you as the brand new land’s grand opening is tomorrow!
We’ve already told you all about the food you’ll find in Avengers Campus, you’ve also seen some of the merchandise that will be available, but today, Disney has shared some new photos that are just too cool not to share.
Do you remember when we told you that you might see Spider-Man swinging through the air inside Avengers Campus? Well, folks who attended a special event last night were treated to that sight. Check out the official image below!

Also, Disney shared a few more photos from inside the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction where guests will experience an interactive escapade including animation, moving props and special effects. You’ll be thrilled to know that there is no height requirement for this attraction, so the little ones will be able to join in on the fun, and no one gets left behind.
The adventure begins at Avengers Campus’ Worldwide Engineering Brigade – or WEB as the kids call it – a workshop of young engineers who specialize in developing innovative technologies to equip and empower a new generation of Super Heroes. This workshop showcases the inventions of Peter Parker and the rest of the WEB Tech team, including their adorable Spider-Bots which are designed to be robotic sidekicks capable of building anything a Super Hero might need. When Peter Parker’s demonstration goes awry during an open house, the Spider-Bots are stuck in replication mode, creating even more Spider-Bots. Mayhem ensues with Spider-Bots escaping the workshop and guests become brave recruits. Donning 3D glasses, guests test-drive the aspiring inventor’s latest invention, the WEB Slinger vehicle, and discover their web-slinging super powers.
Through specially designed, innovative technology that recognizes body movements and gestures, guests will reach out their hands and sling webs from their wrists, just like Spider-Man. As the WEB Slinger vehicles progress, guests virtually pass through several other Campus addresses including Pym Test Kitchen, Avengers Headquarters and the Collector’s Fortress, also known as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! As the mission continues, Spider-Bots will become harder and harder to beat as they continue to multiply.
Riding this attraction is not as simple as walking up and getting in line. First, you need to have a valid ticket and a park reservation for Disney California Adventure Park. Then you’ll need to secure a boarding group which is basically a virtual queue. You can read more about the process and how it all works in this article.
Throughout Avengers Campus, Super Heroes come to life in ways that are more exciting than ever. The campus is comprised of several heroic locations, hosted by a Super Hero or an ally, who will share their unique powers, technology and knowledge with recruits. As guests of all ages explore the campus, they will discover the hero within themselves as they experience a series of immersive heroic encounters, cosmic wonders and unexpected events that place them in the center of the action.
While exploring the overgrown ruins of an Ancient Sanctum, guests will learn mysterious secrets from Doctor Strange and discover ancient artifacts. Doctor Strange trains recruits in the ways of the Mystic Arts by bringing this Ancient Sanctum to life with powerful spells.
