Back in November, I took the opportunity to wander through what was then the Paradise Pier Hotel. I felt so fortunate to be there as a substantial amount of work had already been completed with the hotel’s transformation into the Pixar Place Hotel. The larger-than-life artwork was absolutely incredible, and it was everywhere I looked. I spent a lot of time wandering around, taking in all of the glorious details that were already in place.
One space in the transformed lobby that stopped me in my tracks was an area surrounding a staircase. There was a baby grand piano there, and the artwork on the wall indicated that the space could be dedicated to Disney and Pixar’s SOUL – a favorite movie of mine!
Today, Disney shared the first look at Joe Gardner from the film sitting at the piano playing jazz right there in the lobby! I’m swooning over this video as the incredible attention to detail that I love so much is overflowing. Props like Joe’s brown leather briefcase and even his MetroCard are there and it’s nothing shy of fabulous. If I were in the lobby to see this, trust me when I tell you that I wouldn’t move so I could soak in the entire performance. This is the kind of immersion that I live for and something I won’t miss the next time I visit the Disneyland Resort!
If you’re visiting this incredible hotel, be sure to spend some time looking around as a nod to every Pixar feature film to date can be found throughout!
