Aladdin Remake Crossing $100 Million in Opening Weekend Box Office, Endgame Nearing Record

The live-action Aladdin remake that opened on Friday is expected to bring in $109 million in North American box office sales over the extended Memorial Day.

While not record breaking, the total would put the film in sixth-place for Memorial Day debuts, right behind X-Men: Days of Future Past, which opened with $110.5 million in 2014.

The film stars Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Will Smith, and is directed by Guy Ritchie.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Endgame should pull in $22 million worldwide in its fifth weekend, putting it at $2.65 billion. That puts the Marvel hit just $13 million away from all-time box office champion Avatar‘s $2.78 billion total.
