Last month The DIS reported that newcomer Sadie Stanley was cast to play Kim Possible, alongside Sean Giabrone as Ron Stoppable in upcoming live-action Kim Possible movie. The upcoming film is based on the animated series of the same name, which aired on the Disney Channel from 2002 to 2007.
New additions to the cast have just been announced including Alyson Hannigan, who is best known for her roles on How I Met Your Mother and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Hannigan will play Dr. Ann Possible, Kim’s mom.
In addition to Hannigan, several other actors were also cast including Connie Ray (who will play Kim’s grandmother, Nana Possible). Villains from the animated series Drakken and Shego will come to life in the new film by actors Todd Stashwick and Taylor Ortega respectively. Ciara Wilson has been cast as a brand-new character Athena, another high school student. Lastly, Erika Tham will play Bonnie, a “frenemy” of Kim’s.
The live-action adaptation of Kim Possible will debut in 2019.
