If watching trailers and speculating with friends in the lead up to the newest Star Wars release has got you working up a sweat, you can cool off with some The Last Jedi-inspired ice cream. Ample Hills Creamery at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort has 3 new flavors celebrating the film’s upcoming December 15th release.
Ample Hills co-founders Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna were excited about creating the new flavors. Smith explained,
“I was obsessed with Star Wars as a kid. Star Wars sheets? Check. Star Wars action figures, comic books and trading cards? Check, check, check. But if you would have told me at age seven that one day I would be making Star Wars ice cream with Lucasfilm, I never would have believed it. It’s the thrill of my adult life to be able to tell these three Star Wars stories through ice cream.”
Here are the new flavors, as described by Ample Hills:
- First Order: “To showcase the monolithic, fierce power of The First Order, salted dark chocolate ice cream represents relentless villainy, while cocoa powder, bittersweet chocolate and a dash of powerful espresso reinforce the dark side.”
- Resistance: “A celebration of the spirit and determination of the Resistance fighters who stand against the First Order, The Resistance is a brown sugar and vanilla bean ice cream with an assortment of mix-ins: passionate, fiery red-velvet ooey gooey butter cake, hard-edged toffee pieces and spirited, hopeful mini marshmallows.”
- The Force: “Inspired by the harmony and peaceful nature of the Jedi, The Force illustrates the precarious balance between the dark and light side with sweet cream ice cream, swirled with rich chocolate fudge, and set against a galaxy of white and dark chocolate pearls.”
Now available to order on Amplehills.com, the flavors can also be found at Ample Hills store locations, select Whole Foods, and specialty retailers across the Northeast. Star Wars fans love collecting, so Ample Hills also offers to sell the ice cream “packaged as a collection and shipped in a specially designed box featuring original watercolor artwork designed by Ample Hills Creamery Art Director Lauren Kaelin. As an added bonus, the box also features a punch-out x-wing fighter, integrated into the packaging and easy to assemble.”
